Ipod Poetry

I was inspired by Ruth's "found poem" yesterday.  She used songs from her Ipod, as did I.  I am tickled with this first draft.

Beauty in the world,
Everything glorious.
I'm letting go.

These are the days, right as rain.
Pencil full of lead, pocketful of sunshine.
Peace, love, and happiness.

It's good to be me,
Somebody loved.
Hey now, dog days are over,
Funny the way it is.
Run, smile, shine.

Singing in the rain,
Stitched up, stuck like glue.
This is who I am.
Ok, it's alright with me.

  1. I love it! Your poem is SO cool! You make me want to dig out the ipod and do some more poetry composing and revising! I was so excited by what came out as first drafts, so haven't been back to tweak yet. I can tell this is something I'll keep playing with...

  2. Thanks for the feedback, Ruth! I had so much fun with it... it was interesting to see the theme that ran through my song titles!

  3. I've enjoyed reading your slices this year, and hope to see you again next--it's my third year and I'm happy to see the number of Slicers grow each year (we started out with around 20+, I think, and now run right around 65+).

    Enjoy the writing--and your tunes!

  4. Is there really a song called 'pencil full of lead'? What a great poem you created. I am fascinated by all these poems being created. The songs do reveal a theme, or I guess it's first the choice to see what to reveal.
