This Ordinary Day is a website that celebrates the "shining moments of beauty and grace" that happen in our every day lives. The premise is that life holds many treasures, but we must take the time to notice them. I think we, as teachers, are especially blessed and surrounded by amazing energy that radiates from our students. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by it, sometimes it may even anger us, but there is no denying that it's there. Try to notice it today-- the mischievious twinkle in the eye of a fifth grader, the "AHA moment" when a third grader finally "gets it". The overzealous hug of the wiggly kindergartener who nearly knocks you down en route to the office. These are the small moments that make up our day. I'm trying to train myself to stop, take a breath, and notice. This Ordinary Day has inspired me.
