Wild Things

I'm not sure how I feel about it, but the beloved children's book WhereThe Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak, has been made into a movie and will be in theaters by October 2009. Although some things are best left to the imagination, it may be something we'll see as a family, depending on what it's rated.

I had kind of forgotten about it, but seeing this has brought to mind a "field trip" the kids and I took when they were little. We went to the Breman Museum in Atlanta for an exhibit on Maurice Sendak. The kids got to play in the Night Kitchen and slip down a slide into a giant bowl of chicken soup.

Happy once, happy twice, happy chicken soup with rice...
