Wow! Time flies after Spring Break, doesn't it? I cannot believe our last post was in March! Lots has transpired since then...
As we wrap up the year, anxiously awaiting test scores and making plans for summer, take a minute to look back at your year and celebrate your successes. They may be BIG things, like finishing your degree or being named Teacher of the Year. More likely, they are the small things we tend to overlook on a daily basis. Things like....
the smile and the hug that one student gives you everytime she sees you...
the high five you got from a student who finally understood long division...
the look on that parent's face when he thanked you for all you've done for his child...
the feeling of satisfaction you had when your lesson went just as smoothly as you had imagined it...
the love notes you have hanging on your bulletin board...
the time that one of your toughest students thanked you for the fun lesson on his way out the door...
You probably have lots more that you could add to this list. If you do, send us a comment. If you don't, take some time during the next two weeks and notice the little things. These moments happen every day; we just have to be watchful. You have two weeks. Savor the small successes.
