Fall Break, here we come! If you are looking for a good read on your mini-vacation, think about picking up one of Joshilyn Jackson's books. The first one I read was Gods in Alabama. I read it two summers ago and fell in love with her style and voice. I quickly devoured Between, Georgia and then had to wait awhile for The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. I just love her sweet, sassy, southern characters.

Believe it or not, Joshilyn (in my mind we are BFFs, or at least on a first-name-basis) is going to be in our neck of the woods next week! Woo Hoo! Here are the details, taken from the LaGrange Memorial Library's website:

Visit the Troup Trade Show on October 20, 2009, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Callaway Conference Center at West Georgia Technical Insitute. Friends of the LaGrange Memorial Library are sponsoring two authors, Joshilyn Jackson and Whit Perry, who will be selling and autographing their books. Joshilyn is the award winning author of The Girl Who Stopped Swimming, Between Georgia, and Gods in Alabama. Whit is known by many people in LaGrange and has recently published Delta Jacks and Other Cards, a semi-autobiographical story about growing up in Mississippi with a group of family members named "Jack." Remember, books make great Christmas presents especially personalized, autographed ones!
As mentioned above, Whit Perry will be there as well. If you would like to learn more about him, click here!
