It's a Wonderful Life

Remember the OLD movie? It's one of my favorites. I won't be writing tomorrow because it's a wonderful life. Tomorrow is my husband's 60th birthday. I'll be celebrating with him and friends and family tomorrow.

For the past 20 years he has run our music store, selling musical instruments, providing a place for students to learn to play them, as well as a place in which to do some growing up. Our store is a lot like Floyd's barber shop (remember Andy of Mayberry?) We have wonderful customers who spend some of their spare time at the store. They range in age from 8 or 9 years old on up into their 80's. They bring their instruments and they sit around and play with whomever else happens to be there at the same time. It's a very cool thing in this day of Wal-Mart-help-yourself-mentality.

So tomorrow, I'll be with our friends, relatives and customers who will gather at the store to play and visit and celebrate the birthday of a man who is very much George Bailey and Andy Taylor rolled into one. It is a Wonderful Life!
